Dow's vingate ports have invariably been considered as being amongst the finest Ports products throughout the company's over two century existence. There have been only 25 vintage declarations by Dow's in the last 100 years.
Very grapey, with lots of black licorice and blackberry character. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a long, exquisite finish. Refined and well-made. Best after 2012. 9,000 cases made. (JS) Wine Spectator 97 points (May 15 2003)
